USA is not going to close down military bases in Western Europe soon. No trust to European allies?

The USA will make the decision on the closure of its military bases in Western Europe not earlier than in 2005, said Prime Minister of German Federal Area Baden-Vyurtemberg Ervin Toifel to reporters. According to the German official, “European and American partners will continue discussing this issue in the months to come”, AP reported.

US Minister of Defense Donald Ramsfeld made many statement that the US troops abroad should be deployed in new areas. The majority of the US troops in Germany and South Korea will be withdrawn from these countries.
