Ukraine tightens security at embassy in Pakistan after Iraq-related bomb threats

Security has been tightened at Ukraine's embassy in Pakistan after press reports of threats from unknown sources. Ukraine's Foreign Ministry told Rosbalt that security was being tightened, although 'information that has appeared in [Pakistan's] media about threats to the Ukrainian embassy in Pakistan has not been confirmed.' Ukraine diplomats in Islamabad have been ordered to remain in constant contact with Pakistan's Foreign Ministry and police. The Ukraine Foreign Ministry said it was monitoring the scene closely and that the Islamabad embassy was operating normally.

On May 3 the Saudi information agency SPA reported that unnamed sources in the Pakistan Foreign Ministry reported that threats had been made to blow up the Ukraine embassy unless Ukraine withdraws its troops from Iraq.
