George Soros to purchase Kiev Metro

The American financier and philanthropist George Soros has decided to purchase the public utility Kievskii Metropoliten, and allow everyone to ride free of charge.

As reported to a Rosbalt correspondent by the Kiev mayor's office, Soros explained his decision by saying that 'the future belongs to public transportation,' and that it is at the same time a 'gold mine.' Soros said that he would make a profit not on passengers, but through advertising.

'Many accuse me of trying to organize a coup in Ukraine. But the purchase of Kievskii Metropoliten was in fact the main reason for my visit to Ukraine,' he said.

Rides on the Kiev metro will be free until the end of the year, and the new arrangement will take effect as soon as the purchase and sale agreement is signed.
