Iran condemns outrages in Kosovo

Official spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry Hamid-Reza Asefi condemned the recent events in Kosovo as inhuman.

Asefi regretted the deaths and injuries of Kosovo civilians and the destruction and desecration of mosques, churches and monasteries, the press service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said on Saturday.

"The escalation of tension will inevitably destablize the peaceful situation in Kosovo which was hardly achieved," Asefi said.

He is concerned about the aggravation of inter-religious conflicts. He called on the sides to avoid these conflicts and take measures to restore peace in the region.

"Iran hopes that the world community and all the interested sides will take urgent efforts to solve Kosovo problems and create calm and peaceful atmosphere in the region and we shall not see such sad events in the future," said the official spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry.
