Beltransgaz intends to sign agreement with Gazprom on Friday

On Friday, Beltransgaz intends to sign an agreement with Gazprom on natural gas deliveries to Belarus in 2004, a source at Beltransgaz told RIA Novosti.

"The Belarus side is fully prepared to sign this agreement," the source said.

According to him, the contract provides for the price of natural gas to be $47 per thousand cubic meters of natural gas.

This is approximately the same price Trans Nafta charges to deliver gas to Belarus ($46.68 per thousand cubic meters).

"Gazprom is ready to sign an agreement with Beltransgaz on its own terms, which the Belarus side was informed of earlier," a source at Gazprom told RIA Novosti. According to him, the price of the natural gas deliveries must be linked with the price of transporting Russian natural gas through Belarus.
