7 Russian Guantanamo prisoners repatriated, held for trial

Seven Russian citizens captured during US anti-terrorist operations in Afghanistan and held since then at the US military base in Guantanamo, Cuba, were brought to Moscow and turned over to Russian authorities on February 28 in accord with an agreement between the Prosecutor General of Russia and the US Justice Department. The seven were taken into custody by officials of the Russian Justice Ministry, the Foreign Ministry information department reported. The seven will be interrogated in preparation for possible trials on the criminal charges that have been prepared against them.
