International Court ought not to interfere with Israel's partition wall project

Israel's project to put up a partition wall is a political rather than legal matter and therefore ought not to be considered by the International Court. So said Israel's Vice Premier Minister of Industry, Trade and Communcations Ehud Olmert to reporters this Friday in Moscow.

He did not see reasons for Israel to appear at this trial.

"When we met with Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov, I explained to him that we had no intention to turn that safety wall into a borderline between Israel and Palestine," said the vice-premier.

"This wall is put up to bar Palestinian terrorists from penetrating Israel," added Ehud Olmert.
