"Founding father" of Pakistani nuclear program dismissed

The Pakistani government dismissed on Saturday the country's chief nuclear scientist Abdul Kadir Khan in connection with a likely transfer of Pakistan's nuclear technology to Iran and Libya.

"He was dismissed," an anonymous government source told journalists.

Pakistani authorities interrogated Abdul Kadir Khan and his colleagues during the last weeks after the UN commission started investigation in relation to a possible transfer of the Pakistani nuclear technology to Iran and Libya.
