Iranians freed from Iraqi prison

Sixty Iranian citizens have been freed from Iraq's Umm Al-Qasr prison, Iranian news agency IRNA reported, citing a spokesman for American armed forces in Iraq.

The 60 Iranians, who had earlier illegally crossed the Iranian-Iraqi border, have been released from prison with the assistance of the Provisional Governing Council of Iraq and have already returned home, said the spokesman.

According to him, coalition forces would continue to cut short attempts at illegal border crossing, and detain intruders until establishing the personality and aims of arrival in the country.
