A real hunt for foreigners goes on in Afghanistan?

Pakistani engineer Anwar Shah, 38, was killed in the Afghan southeastern province of Ghazni.

The News newspaper says that a car was attacked near the town of Muqur and a Pakistani civil engineer was kidnapped from it. Nobody has taken the responsibility for the attack so far.

In November, Turkish road-building engineer Hassan Onal was kidnapped in the same province and was kept hostage for thirty days.

The newspaper also reports that last weekend another five persons, including four foreign specialists (two Indians and two Turks) were kidnapped in Afghanistan.

The Indian road-building engineers were kidnapped on Saturday in the province of Zabul, and the Turks, who were digging wells in Afghanistan, on Friday in the vicinity of Kabul. According to the latest unconfirmed reports, the Turks and their Afghan colleague were released on Monday.

Meanwhile, the forces of the US-led anti-terrorist coalition have started the largest military operation since November 2001 in the south and the southeast of the country with the aim of finding and destroying Taliban groups and their allies and also mujaheddin bases and arms depots.
