Armenian diaspora to raise money to complete highway linking Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia

The Armenia fund Ayastan is beginning to collect donations around the world to finance the completion of the North-South highway in Nagorno-Karabakh. Tugran Paskevichyan, who is the fund's public relations director, told Rosbalt that the collection of money has already gotten underway in Armenian diasporas in France, Germany, Holland, Switzerland, Portugal and the US.

The North-South highway will connect regions of Nagorno-Karabakh with Armenia. Ayastan was founded in 1992 on the decree of the president of Armenia. The fund's board of directors includes government leaders from Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh and members of social, political and philanthropic organizations of the Armenian diaspora. The fund's board also includes representatives of the Catholic and Evangelist churches, businessmen and science and culture figures.
