Georgian election commission revokes accreditation of independent TV station Rustavi-2

The Georgian central election commission, which has yet to publish the official results of the November 2 parliamentary elections, has now revoked the accreditation of independent broadcasting company Rustavi-2. According to Rosbalt, the TV station is accused of pressuring the election commission. The accusation is in connection with a video clip of the anti-government youth movement Kmara or enough, which calls on election commission representatives to not help authorities in the falsification of the parliamentary elections.

The decision of the central election commission to revoke the accreditation of Rustavi-2 was not supported only by representatives of the United National Movement, Burdzhanadze-Democrats and New Right. The remaining twelve members of the commission and Commission Chairman Nana Devdariani voted 'yes' to revoke the accreditation.
