US-Russia relations in the military field are becoming better, Pentagon head Donald Rumsfeld told foreign journalists accredited in Washington on Monday.
He recalled that US President George Bush attached much importance to joint work with Russia.
Rumsfeld emphasized that he and US State Secretary Colin Powell actively interacted with their Russian counterparts.
"I believe military relations with Russia are mutually advantageous," the secretary stressed.
The US Government Commission on Security and Cooperation in Europe (also known as the Helsinki Commission) prepared a plan to partition Russia into several independent smaller states
