The Russian-Mexican forum Mexico-Russia: Two Experiences of Transitional Period opened in Mexico City on Tuesday.
Russia's Minister of Anti-Monopoly Policy and Support of Entrepreneurship Ilya Yuzhanov who made a speech at the ceremony said that the forum's task is to take economic, scientific-technical and humanitarian relations of the two states to a new stage. In Ilya Yuzhanov's opinion, such forums must become traditional.
From the point of view of the Mexican side, the talks in the sphere of energy, primarily relating to the oil and gas industry, as well as discussion of the problems of investments and taxation will be of greatest interest.
Taking part in the forum are not only the heads of different Ministries and agencies of Russia and Mexico - special programs are envisaged both for the entrepreneurial and the academic community. In particular, the signing of an agreement between the two countries' universities on cooperation in carrying out space research for peaceful purposes is expected.
The forum which is being held in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mexico will last two days.
