In the next few days, Tehran will notify the IAEA of its readiness to sign the additional Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) protocol, Iran's permanent representative to the Agency Ali Akbar Salehi said in an official statement.
"We will send the IAEA a letter announcing our intention and readiness to sign the additional protocol," Salehi said. "The letter has already been drawn up and submitted to high officials of the Islamic Republic for consideration." "Iran has not made any preliminary conditions before signing the additional NPT protocol," the Iranian diplomat said.
A decision concerning the letter is expected to be announced before the session of the IAEA Board of Governors on November 20, Salehi said.
