Ukrainian Parliament may reconsider relations with Russia

The Ukrainian Supreme Rada (parliament) has described Russia's activities to build a dam in the Kerch Strait as an unfriendly act.

This opinion is contained in the Supreme Rada statement "On the elimination of the threat to Ukraine's territorial integrity caused by the Russian Federation's construction of a dam in the Kerch Strait", adopted on Thursday.

The document was passed by 369 votes out of the 430 present.

Russia's activities in the Kerch Strait force Ukraine to reconsider the previous routine of relations with the Russian Federation, the statement reads.

The parliament demands that the president use all available means to protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the state and the inviolability of Ukrainian borders.
