Igor Ivanov to hold talks with Colin Powel within APEC forum

Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Igor Ivanov will hold talks with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell within the APEC forum slated to be held in Bangkok on October 17-18, officials of the Foreign Ministry of Russia said on Wednesday.

"Igor Ivanov's conversations with U.S. Secretary of State Colin Powell and with a number of other heads of the foreign policy agencies of the APEC forum member countries are planned within the ministerial meeting in which he will take part," the Foreign Ministry officials said.

The agenda of the ministerial meeting includes development of trade and investments, and implementation of projects of economic and technical cooperation. It is also intended to consider the tasks of struggle against international terrorism which hampers development of regional trade and economy, and of promptly reacting to new challenges and threats, Russia's Foreign Ministry officials said.
