Russian tourists spend USD 27 million in Barcelona annually

Russian tourists spend approximately USD 27 million yearly in Barcelona, said General Director of the Barcelona Tourist Administration Pere Duran. He said that Russia is the primary tourist market in Eastern Europe for Barcelona. Russian tourists are in 18th place in terms of spending money in Barcelona, ahead of Finland (19th), Israel (22nd) and Brazil (23rd). On average Russian tourists travelling to Spain spend about USD 477 per person. According to the Spanish General Consulate in Moscow, 22% of Russian tourists who travelled to Spain visited Barcelona in 2002 .
