The USA is interested in cooperation of American energy companies with Gazprom, this Russian company reported on Wednesday on the basis of the results of the U.S. tour by its delegation led by the company's head Alexei Miller.
At the talks in Washington U.S. Secretary of Commerce Donald Evans and Energy Secretary Spencer Abraham confirmed the U.S. administration's interest in creating favourable conditions for development of businesslike cooperation of Gazprom and the American energy companies, the Gazprom press service claims.
It has quoted Abraham as saying that the U.S. Department of Energy "welcomes the possibility of Gazprom's emergence on the American gas market as a supplier of liquefied natural gas".
For his part, the head of the Russian concern informed the American side of Gazprom's plans of cooperation with the U.S. partners in the project of development of the Shtokmanovskoye gas-condensate deposit in the north of Russia.
