Russia hopes that the UN concept on security in Iraq will be coordinated in the nearest future

Russia hopes that in the near future the text on the UN's concept on security in Iraq will be coordinated. Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov, who is now on a visit in Budapest, spoke about it on Monday at a news conference.

Answering the question of the Hungarian mass media on the possibility of Russia taking part in solving the Iraqi crisis and sending its troops to Iraq, Mikhail Kasyanov pointed out that Russia would take part in working out, jointly with the United Nations, a concept on security.

"You interpret a little bit wider the position of Russia, while we are talking about the working out of a UN concept on security. Russia is ready to take a decision to change the situation in Iraq, which is, as you know, not good," said Mikhail Kasyanov.

In the opinion of the Prime Minister, the efforts of the entire world community are needed in order to settle the situation in Iraq. "It is necessary to work out such a mechanism that would settle the situation in that country; we hope that this text could be coordinated in the near future," underscored Mikhail Kasyanov.
