German bank IKB Deutsche Industriebank may start investing in Bashkiria

The Bashkirian government is considering the possibility of collaborating with IKB Deutsche Industriebank, one of the largest banks in Germany. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by Albert Safarov, head of the investment department of the Bashkirian Foreign Trade Ministry, Director of IKB Deutsche Industriebank Henning Bentak met Foreign Trade Minister Boris Kolbin yesterday in Ufa for the first time.

They discussed the possibility of attracting foreign investment in the Bashkirian economy. Industry, trade, tourism and banking were chosen as the areas with the greatest potential. According to Mr Safarov, the German bank specialises in long-term export and project finance as well as international mergers. In Bashkiria the bank will provide long-term loans for companies operating in those areas which are of benefit to the Bashkirian economy.

Detailed negotiations between the bank and the Bashkirian government will begin in November when IKB Deutsche Bank and German businessmen gather in Bashkiria.
