Russia was next to last among CIS countries for industrial production growth rate for the period January through July 2003, said the CIS Statistics Committee yesterday. The industrial production growth rate in Russia was only 6.8%. Azerbaijan was the only CIS country with a lower growth rate - 5%. Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan were not included in the statistics. Moldavia had the highest rate - 19.1%, followed by Armenia (18.1%) and Ukraine (13.8%). On average, CIS countries posted a growth rate of 8% for the period.
