Georgia's NSC puts Basayev on its `most wanted` international terrorists list

Georgia's National Security Council (NSC) has included Chechen terrorist Shamil Basayev in its `most wanted` international terrorists list.

The NSC has issued a special statement which says that Georgia has joined Russia, Great Britain and the United States in their request to the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) to put Basayev on its list of the most dangerous international terrorists.

Joining this request, the statement points out, the Georgian side stresses that Georgia's law enforcement agencies have been after Basayev for five years for the crimes against humanity he committed in Abkhazia in 1992-1993.

"Georgia condemns all forms of international terrorism and is ready to cooperate with the appropriate agencies of various countries in their war on terror," emphasizes the statement.
