Vladimir Gusinsky, former Russian media tycoon, was released on Euro 100,000 bail by the Athens court of appeal today, Alexandr Berezin, Gusinsky's lawyer, told RIA Novosti by phone.
Gusinsky is forbidden to leave Athens until the court decides whether he should be extradited to Russia.
The famous entrepreneur, who was accused in Russia of swindling exceptionally large amounts of money and money laundering, was detained on August 21 at Athens international airport.
At present, Russian Prosecutor General's Office is compiling documents to extradite Gusinsky back to Russia.
