EurAsEc international committee meets in Alma Ata

The 13th session of the International Committee of the Eurasian Economic Community (EurAsEC) takes place on Friday in Alma Ata at the level of the vice prime ministers of the member-countries. The Russian delegation is headed by Vice Prime Minister Viktor Khristenko.

The agenda of the session consists of 24 items, the EurAsEC press service in Alma Ata told RIA Novosti.

The vice prime ministers will discuss, in particular, the implementation of priority programmes for the development of the Community in 2003-2006. They were adopted at the latest session of the EurAsEC International Committee at the level of the heads of state in April 2003 in Dushanbe.

Another issue is the protection of internal markets in conditions of the non-use of anti-dumping and compensation measures in trade between the Community's member-countries, as well as common customs tariffs in the EurAsEC.

The member-countries of the EurAsEC are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia and Tajikistan. Armenia, Moldavia and Ukraine have the status of observers in the EurAsEC.
