All Russian crucial facilities have reserve life-support systems, the Russian Emergencies Ministry told the journalists commenting on a mass power cut in a number of major cities on the Eastern Coast of the USA and Canada on Thursday night.
All crucial facilities of the Russian Defense Ministry, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Education and other socially important objects "have reserve energy supply systems, which make it possible to support normal operation of the objects during a long period of time in case of a sudden power cut," a representative of the Russian Emergencies Ministry said.
"Crucial industrial objects are also equipped with reserve life-support systems," the representative reported.
Moreover, in case such incident occurs the Russian Emergencies Ministry has a joint plan of action to deal with it and restore life-support systems, the Russian Emergencies Ministry reported.
