The US Government has granted Georgia USD 800,000 to protect the OSCE monitoring group operating at the Russian-Georgian border, RIA Novosti learned from the State Border Protection Department in Georgia.
The department's spokesman said that the money would allow to acquire uniforms, special equipment and vehicles for border guards to be engaged in protection of the OSCE representatives, who from 2000 have been monitoring the Chechen, Ingush and Daghestani sections of the Russia-Georgian border.
