A petroleum terminal and a seaport may be built in Moldova

Aleksei Gordeyev, Vice Premier and Minister of Agriculture of the Russian Federation, is heading for Chisinau on a working visit Thursday to take part in a session of the Russo-Moldovan interstate commission for economic, scientific and technical co-operation, the Vice Premier's office reported.

Reportedly, one of the key issues under consideration will be Russia's possible partaking in the construction of a petroleum terminal and the seaport of Giurgiulesti on Moldovan territory. Besides, Aleksei Gordeyev will discuss problems, concerning frozen accounts of some legal entities, residents of the Moldovan Republic, in Chisinau's former branch of the Soviet Union's Vnesheconombank, the office reported. Prominent on the agenda is the issue of Moldova implementing its obligations under the interstate agreement on settling debts owed to the Russian Federation of April 7th, 2000.

Aleksei Gordeyev will also discuss the state of and prospects for trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Moldova and issues of interaction in gas, electric energy, industry, transportation, agriculture and the humanitarian sphere.
