Communists hold anti-summit in Greece

Simultaneously with a European Union summit in Salonika, Greece, Communist parties are opening a large forum called Communists and Movements against War and Globalization. The congress, which opens on Thursday, has gathered delegations from 71 parties.

According to a spokesperson for the Greek communists, participants in the forum are eagerly awaiting speeches from communist parties of the G-8, especially from Russia and the USA, and from countries of the "axis of evil," "who are right at the epicenter of the imperialist aggression." After a discussion of theoretical questions dealing with anti-globalism, forum participants intend to join ralliers organizing their "anti-summit" in Salonika.
