The top brass of the CIS border guards gather for a session in Kiev on Wednesday, June 11 to discuss the possibility of setting up a single system of registering foreign nationals.
According to the press centre of the Russian Federal Border Service (FBS), they will be discussing a draft resolution about a single system of registering foreign nationals and apatrides /stateless persons/ arriving on the territory of the Commonwealth of Independent States, or the CIS, and a draft convention on mutual recognition of execution of resolutions dealing with administrative infringements dealing with the protection of state borders of the CIS.
The Russian delegation is headed by Colonel-General Vladimir Pronichev, the acting Director of the FBS, who will also hold a number of bilateral meetings with his counterparts from the CIS. The session gathers top border guards from 11 CIS countries, excluding Uzbekistan.
