Russian economic forum in Croatia attracts great interest among business circles

The international forum Interregional cooperation of the Russian Central Federal District with the Croatian Republic continued yesterday in Croatia. As a Rosbalt correspondent was informed by the press office of Sistema financial group, Sistema CEO Vladimir Yevtushenkov has said the forum has attracted a lot of interest among Croatian business circles and more than 400 Croatian representatives have taken part in events. Mayor of Moscow Yuri Luzhkov spoke at the forum saying Moscow is interested in investing in the Croatian tourism sector.

The forum opened on June 3 in Zagreb. It has been attended by President of the Croatian Republic Stjepan Mesic, Croatian Economics Minister Ljubo Yurcic, Russian Agriculture Minister Alexei Gordeyev, Moscow Mayor Yuri Luzhkov and business representatives from both countries. The Russian delegation is led by Central District Presidential Plenipotentiary Georgy Poltavchenko. The forum is including various presentations, meetings and bilateral talks between regional leaders.

An agreement was signed on June 3 between the Agriculture Ministries of Russia and Croatia on economic and research cooperation in the area of agriculture and food production. There were also meetings between Mr Poltavchenko and Croatian leaders. Many bilateral issues were discussed and they agreed that the Central Federal District will participate in the Zagreb fair.
