Brazil hopes for expansion of trade and economic relations with Russia, said the country's Minister of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade Luiz Fernando Furlan in an interview with a RIA Novosti correspondent ahead of 56 Brazil businessmen's visit to Russia scheduled for May 19th.
"Over the last two years alone the trade volume grew by 60 per cent. In the first four months of this year this figure grew by another 40 per cent," the minister pointed out.
"There are still a lot of difficulties that are first of all caused by our poor knowledge of each other and our potentials. A significant share of the transactions is accounted for by only three kinds of goods. It is meat and sugar from the Brazilian part and fertilizers from Russia. So one of the main goals of our visit is to find new directions for cooperation," Luiz Fernando Furlan explained.
