Shevardnadze "Is Upset Over Impudence" Of Georgian Criminals

President of Georgia, Eduard Shevardnadze, intends to convene an emergency meeting of the heads of the power structures within the next few days for working out a plan to strengthen law and order on the threshold of the parliamentary elections in the country, he stated on Monday in his traditional interview with national radio.

Shevardnadze said that he is "upset over the impudence" of the Georgian criminals. The President holds the view that activity of the criminal groupings is linked with their "hope for impunity in conditions of the complication of the political processes". According to him, the current situation in Georgia reminds of the end of the 1980s and the beginning of the 1990s.

As it was earlier reported, the car of well-known Georgian businessman Dzhoni Guigani was exploded in the centre of Tbilisi last week, and businessman Giorgy Pilpani was kidnapped on Sunday.
