The two-day consultations of Russian, Ukrainian and German experts on the management of the gas-transportation system of Ukraine will begin in Kiev on Wednesday. Representatives of Gazprom will participate in the talks from the Russian side, of Neftegaz Ukrainy - from the Ukrainian side, and of Ruhrgas from the German side.
The accord on setting up the international gas-transportation consortium was reached at the meeting of the presidents of Russia and Ukraine and of the chancellor of the FRG in St. Petersburg in June 2002.
In October 2002 the heads of Russian Gazprom and Neftegaz Ukrainy signed the constituent documents on establishing the International Consortium on Management and Development of the Gas-Transportation System of Ukraine on a parity basis.
The consortium is expected to begin to work not earlier than September when its model and powers on attraction of investments are approved.
