The Group of Four Countries is Open for Admitting New Members

The idea of creating a common economic space, being worked out by Russia, Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan, can be joined also by other countries. This opinion was shared with reporters by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Kasyanov who spoke about the results of a session of the Council of the CIS Heads of State.

"We proceed from the fact that the countries, which have initiated the creation of a common economic space, are favourable to the idea of the expansion of this space," said the head of the Russian government.

Mikhail Kasyanov is confident that the creation of a common economic space should contribute to the economic growth and to the improvement of social conditions in the participating countries.

The prime minister reminded the reporters that at the present time the experts of the four countries were working on the concept of a common economic space and expressed hope that by September, this year, the document would be ready and would be adopted as a basis.
