The United States will send more than twenty-two million dollars for prevention of conflicts in Central Asia

The International Development Agency of the United States has allocated five grants to a total of 22.2 million dollars in the context of the regions strategy for preventing conflicts in Central Asia. The Embassy of the United States in Uzbekistan reported about it.

The Agency will realise its programme of investments for local projects. This programme provides for ensuring social stability and the weakening of the sources of potential conflicts in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. The main attention will be paid to the areas with the greatest probability of arising conflicts, such as the Ferghana Valley.

The United States intends to realise the programme for local projects through international non-governmental organisations which, jointly with local non-governmental organisations, will start their new types of activity for lessening conflicts in Central Asia.
