Moscow to encourage development of trade and economic cooperation with Arab nations

Moscow is adherent to a comprehensive development of trade and economic cooperation with Arab nations.

According to the Information and Press Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Alexander Saltanov made this statement in Moscow on Wednesday at a meeting with Khalid Ismail, the President of the General Union of Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of the Arab Countries.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, at the talks, Saltanov particularly emphasised that the sides ought to make the most of the present-day bilateral relations in order to achieve this goal.

In this connection, he voiced his high appreciation of the visit by the General Union's delegation to Russia, which would definitely contribute to an effort to complete this extremely important mission.

Ismail, in his turn, stated that trade, industrial and commercial circles of Arab countries totally shared Russia's determination to speed up bilateral trade and commercial cooperation. The Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the Arab official also disclosed information about specific steps that the organisation he headed was taking on this front.
