Russia and China to coordinate work of SCO anti-terrorist centre

Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo and PRC Vice-Premier Qian Qichen arrived at the conclusion on the necessity to coordinate the work of the anti-terrorist centre of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) with the work of the analogous structures of the CIS and the Collective Security Treaty.

After his meeting with Qian Qichen Vladimir Rushailo who arrived in the PRC on Tuesday told Russian journalists that this question was in the field of vision of the two countries' leaders, and experts were now working on it.

According to him, "the coordination of the work of the anti-terrorist bodies will make it possible to rule out their duplication and will improve the quality of work." The questions of trade-economic cooperation and interaction of the law-enforcement bodies and secret services which has intensified of late were also discussed during the meeting.

Speaking of his Tuesday meeting with Minister of National Defence of China Chi Haotian, Rushailo expressed confidence that the level of interaction between Russia and China in the sphere of military and military-technical cooperation will be enhanced in the near future.
