Pakistan's government and private business for expanding trade and economic ties with Russia

The Pakistani government and private business are for expanding commercial and economic relations with Russia, held back in previous decades by some political factors.

Tariq Ikram, Chairman Export Promotion Bureau of Pakistani, proposed to Russia that they exchange trade and industrial exhibitions at which the business communities of the two countries will explore each other's industrial achievements and capabilities. Ikram suggested holding in Karachi, Pakistan's largest city and port, and also in Moscow seminars on the possibilities of the two countries' market.

A similar initiative was made by Iftikhar Ali Malik, chairman of the FPCCI. He expressed interest in establishing lasting working contacts with its Russian partner -- Russia's Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
