Secretary of Security Council of Russia Vladimir Rushailo arrives in Beijing

Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Vladimir Rushailo arrived in Beijing on an official visit.

At the airport he told journalists that questions of international and regional security would be discussed in the course of his visit.

The secretary of the Security Council spoke highly of the level of bilateral relations and recalled that relations of Russia and China have been successfully developing both on the bilateral basis and within the framework of the UN and different international forums. He made special mention of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO).

Rushailo recalled that a summit meeting of Russia and China is planned to be held soon and that his visit to the PRC is a stage of the preparation of the Russian-Chinese summit.

On Tuesday Vladimir Rushailo will hold talks with PRC Acting Minister of State Security Gen Hueichang, Minister of Public Security of the PRC Jia Chunwang and Minister of National Defence and member of the PRC State Council Chi Haotian. Meetings of Rushailo with a number of leaders of China and with the administration of a province are scheduled for the subsequent days of the visit.

The visit of the secretary of the Security Council of the Russian Federation to the PRC will last till July 20.
