Russian Security Council Secretary to visit China

Russian Security Council Secretary Vladimir Rushailo will pay an official visit to China on July 15-20 on an invitation from the Chinese Foreign Ministry, the Russian Security Council's secretariat said.

Vladimir Rushailo is scheduled to meet with Chinese President Jiang Zemin, Deputy Prime Minister Qian Qichen, Foreign Minister Tang Jiaxuan and Defence Minister Chi Haotian.

They will discuss international security and strategic stability issues, including the US abrogation of the ABM Treaty, and combating terrorism both within the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and at a bilateral level.

It is not ruled out that they will consider the problems of "hot spots", connected with terrorist activities, for instance, the situation in Kashmir.
