Russian orthodox temple desecrated again in Israeli town of Haifa

The Russian orthodox temple has been desecrated again in the Israeli town of Haifa. Early on Monday, unknown villains intruded upon the territory of the St. Prophet Ilya temple, belonging to the Russian spiritual mission in Jerusalem, and painted its walls with the satanic signs of inverted crosses and pentagrams as well as inscriptions and pictures, insulting Christians, Archimandrite Yelisei, head of the Russian spiritual mission in Jerusalem, informed RIA Novosti.

It is a second case of profaning the temple over the week. Representatives of Israel's Ministry for Religious Affairs and Haifa's City Council expressed their regret to the Russian spiritual mission in Jerusalem, concerning the incident, which took place early on July 9th, however no efficient measures have been taken. In the middle of the last week an unknown person rang up to the temple and remarked in Russian with a Jewish accent that he intended to do so from then on.

At present it is hard to say who is the one masterminding the acts, Archimandrite Yelisei noted. Various versions are admitted, nevertheless such acts arouse the feelings of alert and even concern about the safety of the deacon's family, dwelling on the territory of the temple.

The intruders seriously damaged Prophet Ilya's icon, crowning the temple, having daubed it all over with waterproof paint, Archimandrite Yelisei added.
