Russian Foreign Minister to participate in meeting between "four" international intermediaries on Mideastern settlement

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov will head for New York on Monday. On July 16th, Ivanov will participate in the third meeting between "four" international intermediaries on Mideastern settlement. US Secretary of State Colin Powell, Foreign Minister of Denmark, presiding over the European Union, Per Stig, EU High Commissioner for Common Foreign and Security Policy Javier Solana and UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan will also participate in the meeting.

They will continue the discussion of the concept of measures on the settlement of the Palestinian-Israeli conflict. The concept implies parallel solution of the whole complex of problems, including security issues, the resumption of negotiations, assistance to Palestinians and reforms of the Palestinian National Authority.

Moscow believes that this scheme of parallel solution of all problems, coordinated by "four" international intermediaries, is the most real way to overcome the crisis.

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov doesn't rule out that some Arab foreign ministers will join the discussion in New York. According to the official spokesman for the US Department of State, the Egyptian and Jordanian foreign ministers will participate in the meeting.
