Lufthansa to increase daily flights to Moscow

The German airline Lufthansa intends to restore the number of its daily flights to Moscow, cut after the terrorist attacks in New York and Washington, RIA Novosti learned at the company's Russian and CIS office.

After the September 11th terrorist acts the Lufthansa daily flights to Moscow were cut from 7 to 4. On Thursday, July 11th, a fifth flight, from Frankfurt-on-Mein to Moscow, was resumed.

After the terrorist attacks in the USA and the last year's world economic slump that affected the American and European markets of civilian air transportation, Lufthansa canceled a number of flights on many of its key roots, including those to Russia.

Yet the company connects the resumed fifth flight not only with gradual world market stabilization, but also with the growing demand for flights to Russia.

Today Lufthansa carries out 35 flights a week from Germany to Russia.
