Simon Wiesenthal Centre institutes an award for information about participants in Holocaust in Baltic countries

The Simon Wiesenthal Centre has instituted an award to a value of 10,000 dollars for the information which will help find and sentence at least one of the participants in the Holocaust atrocities in the Baltic countries. As representatives of this Centre in Tallinn said, a list with the names of seventeen Nazi criminals, suspected of the Holocaust crimes in the territory of Estonia in the years of the Second World War, has been handed over to the leadership of the Estonian police.

"The percent of the Holocaust victims in the territory of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia is the biggest in Europe," Arie Rubin, one of the staff members of the Wiesenthal Centre told reporters.

However, according to him, the Estonian republic "has not started a single investigation on its own initiative." "In several months we intend to visit Estonia again and bring additional list of the criminals, which will be handed over to the Estonian government," pointed out Arie Rubin.
