German businessmen in Kyrgyzstan

The prospects of expanding economic cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and Germany will be discussed on Thursday by representatives of the business quarters of these two countries, reported the press service of the Kyrgyz government.

A delegation of the Federal Republic of Germany, headed by State Secretary of the Federal Ministry of the Economy Axel Gerlach has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to attend the forum. The delegation also includes staff members of the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs, journalists and representatives of the country's financial, trade and industrial quarters. From the Kyrgyz side the forum will be attended by businessmen, economists and financiers.

It is expected that the German delegation will also conduct negotiations with Kyrgyz President Askar Akayev and Prime Minister Nikolai Tanayev. The sides will discuss the state of the Kyrgyz-German economic relations and the prospects of their further expansion.

It is envisaged that during their conversation Askar Akayev and Axel Gerlach will touch upon the theme of the realisation of the long-term Kyrgyz-German projects in the financial and technological spheres.
