Talks between Foreign Ministers of Russia, Sri Lanka

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov is satisfied with the counter-terrorist cooperation between Russia and Sri Lanka. "I would like to point to our joint fight against terrorism," Ivanov said, opening talks with his Sri Lanka counterpart Tiron Fernando, who arrived in Moscow on a working visit yesterday.

"Common standpoints of Russia and Sri Lanka were fixed in the joint statement on counter-terrorism, which we signed last year," Ivanov stressed.

Greeting Tiron Fernando in Moscow, the Russian minister also expressed satisfaction with cooperation between Russia and Sri Lanka within the UN and with "good development of political consultations".
