More than half of Tu-154 passengers were children

According to the information of Bashkir Airlines, the owner of the Tu-154 jet that collided with another plane above the German territory, more than half of the passengers on board the jet were children.

According to the list of passengers, on board the jet were 8 children aged below 12, who had child tickets, and 37 teenagers aged below 16, who had regular tickets. All children and six accompanying grown-ups were residents of Ufa, Bashkiria who headed for Spain for a holiday.

A source in Bashkir Airlines said the authorities of Ufa have already set up an operational headquarters to contact the relatives of the crash victims. According to preliminary information, the relatives won't have to travel to Moscow. The bodies of passengers and crew will be taken straight to Ufa, said the source.
