Representative for NATO military liaison mission in Moscow: Russia has interesting projects concerning high technologies

The head of the NATO military liaison mission in Moscow, Major General Peter Williams pointed that Russia had "interesting new high technological projects". He said it at a press conference on Monday.

Williams also said that if these projects met with the NATO standards they might become an object for negotiations on a competitive base between the alliance's member-countries and Russia about purchasing these technologies.

Williams also said that NATO did not have much weapons and other equipment at its disposal and did not deal with questions of purchasing particular weapons or military facilities. This issue is under the responsibility of the block's member-countries.

Speaking about cooperation between Russia and the NATO, Williams told journalists that Russia was interested in cooperation concerning air transportation and refueling in the air. Russia and NATO have had a large experience in this sphere, he pointed. "We are ready to influence Brussels to promote issues that are of interest to the Russian side," said the head of the liaison mission.
