OSCE allowed parties registered in Serbia to take part in Kosovo elections

Official representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) in Kosovo announced that political parities registered in Serbia might take part in Kosovo municipal elections scheduled to take place on 26 October In accordance with OSCE election commission regulations such matters are to be resolved by the commission itself. At the previous elections in Kosovo parties registered outside the province were not allowed to take part in the elections. According to OSCE representatives, the situation has changed.

Already 26 Serbian parties, including those registered in Serbia, filed in their registration forms for the elections.

Representatives of leading political parties of Kosovo Albanians speak against this decision of the election commission, considering it a violation of OSCE regulations.
